Lightyear Medical brings together physicians with operational backgrounds in EMS, rescue, disaster response, retrieval medicine, spaceflight support, occupational health, and other forms of austere medicine. The organization exists to apply that level of experience to clients operating in environments that are complex, isolated, or unforgiving.

LEADERSHIP
The standard begins with Dr. Preston Fedor
Dr. Preston Fedor, Founder and Chief Medical Officer, shaped Lightyear Medical around physicians whose experience extends beyond traditional hospital practice and into EMS, rescue, disaster response, retrieval medicine, and operational support in austere settings. With roots in a firefighting family, he developed an early familiarity with high-stress environments that parlayed into a career functioning under operational pressure, geographic isolation, and high-consequence conditions.
Dual board certification in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services
EMS medical director of over 1500 EMTs and 700 paramedics in a wide variety of clinical settings, including urban and suburban fire departments, frontier ambulance services, helicopter rescue, mountain rescue, military special operations, civilian and federal law enforcement, and special events.
Founded and clinically supervised a large healthcare system’s novel community paramedic program that provided mobile on-site care for occupational illnesses and injuries.
Educator on EMS and emergency medicine topics and has spoken at conferences across the country and overseas.
Combat veteran and currently serves as military flight surgeon for worldwide astronaut rescue.
Published peer reviewed author in emergency medicine, operational medicine, and resuscitation research.
